Beira is a coastal city in central Mozambique, with a tropical climate that stays hot year-round-averaging 80°F (27°C) in the dry winter and 86°F (30°C) in the rainy summer. It's famous as the gateway to Gorongosa National Park, where you can spot elephants and lions during the dry months from May to October. In the wet season (November to April), the city's Portuguese colonial architecture, like the 1900s Beira Cathedral, is best explored between rain showers, and you can still take a boat trip to the Bazaruto Archipelago for snorkeling in the Indian Ocean.
